How We Started

Made in 1851, the Wooster Brush Company became one of the initial paint applicator companies in the United States. Mr. Adam Foss started the business after moving from Pennsylvania to Ohio. In the early days, he began making handmade bristle paintbrushes. Original operations were started in a two-story building based in Wooster, Ohio. Next, the paint brushes were sold everywhere in the state by door-to-door business.

This company purchased land on Madison Avenue in 1909 to manufacture a new factory. The building was two-hundred feet long and seventy feet in width. This destination was approximately three times greater than its previous location. The Madison Avenue site in Wooster, Ohio performs as company hq nowadays.

In 2010, William S. Fagert became the company president. He has been working hard with The Wooster Brush Company since 1985. The business has only had 9 presidents since its conception.

The company has been performing for 165 years. They have reached several industry milestones including:

They created the Shasta® style brush and the angled sash brush.

The enterprise was the first to expose the now industry standard of man made fabrics for paint roller covers.

The “Foss-set” process was invented to cement the bristles into the paint brushes.

The Exploded-Tip® was developed to generate soft flags following the ends of the filaments.

First business to try nylon filaments to make brushes for latex paints.

These ground-breaking business developments have secured The Wooster Brush Company as the highest applicator innovator. Many of the best decorating equipment in the industry is made by Wooster Brush. New product styles can be purchased annually. The organization delivers more products than all of the other paint applicator manufacturers that specialize in high-quality items. The business employs a “made in America,” mindset and has passed this on down many years.

Attributes of an Awesome Brush

Materials

Formulated using the best bristles from China, durable blends, stable ferrules, synthetic filaments and supportive, comfortable handles. The Wooster Brush Company only banks on the very best items from around the world to produce their products. In the event that they can’t find what they are looking for, they have created their own materials.

Tipping

The filament or tip is easily the most vital part of the paint brush. How the filament or tip or finish is manufactured is directly related to performance. Each paint brush company guards their proprietary tipping methods closely since this is the reason the brush and brand-specific.

Taper

Look at the brush along the perimeter to ascertain the taper. If the tapers come to a point, you will have more paint control. The tapered filament brushes encourage the paint to flow and generate a more even finish because of better coverage. Pumping the paint on the surface allows better cutting-in techniques to be generated. Level filament paint brushes or un-tapered filament paint brushes typically cost less; however, they considerably sacrifice capacity, management and coverage.
